Voters reflect rising electricity and gasoline prices
ABO - On May 8, the Tien Giang provincial National Assembly including NA deputies Nguyen Hoang Mai, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Trong Nghia, Ta Minh Tam and Le Quang Tri met voters in Tan Phong commune (Cai Lay district), Thanh Nhut (Go Cong Tay district) and Go Cong town.
After listening the contents of the seventh session of the 16th National Assembly, voters stated their opinions and recommendations on the issuance of new galvanometers for people in agricultural production; specific regulations on the management and sanctioning of homemade rudimentary vehicles causing damage to rural roads; expanding the access road to Tan Phong tourist area; to treat environmental pollution in livestock; it is necessary to strictly handle child violence in child care places;, etc... In which, many ideas focused on high electricity and gasoline prices affected to people’s lives.
* Rising gasoline and electricity prices significantly affected people's lives
Voters in Go Cong town mentioned the situation as electricity price and gasoline price dropped only a few hundred VND, but when it increased to several thousand VND/liter. It directly affected people's lives. Voters also wonder: The collection of environmental protection tax is VND 4,000/liter of gasoline. Regarding the rising electricity and gasoline prices, NA deputy Nguyen Thanh Hai said: “The high rising electricity and gasoline prices has affected the social security issue. Our responsibility will convey all voters' recommendations to the functional branches, ministries and central branches with many information channels. In the immediate future, the NA will have a meeting with the Electricity sector. In the upcoming NA session, this issue will be questioned by many representatives of the Electricity sector about exclusive products.
* Voters care about landslides and illegal sand mining
Voters of Tan Phong commune hoped to complete the embankment project soon to prevent landslide. Besides, illegal sand exploitation has currently happened complicatedly but the law on sanctioning is not enough to deter. Therefore, voters proposed the authority to adjust the penalty framework for illegal sand mining.

At the meeting, the leaders of the local government explained the opinions under the authority of the voters. Chairman of Cai Lay district People's Committee Nguyen Van Bang suggested that people together with local authorities supervise illegal sand pumping and promptly notify authorities to take measures to handle.
NA deputy Nguyen Trong Nghia said that Tan Phong commune has many potential models for developing ecotourism, so the Tien Giang provincial NA delegation acquired opinions and recommendations of voters in Tan Phong commune and the proposals of local leaders to send to the NA, the authorities to consider and resolve in the next meeting. Besides, the locality needs to develop agriculture and aquaculture in association with eco-tourism to soon launch a new rural commune in accordance with the roadmap set out.
