ABO – On October 7, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong chaired a working session with Tan Phu Dong district on the socio-economic development situation and building new rural area task.

According to Tan Phu Dong district People's Committee, in the first 9 months, most of the socio-economic targets of district reached over 75%.
Specifically, the value of industry - handicraft was over 18.7 billion VND, reaching 75.02%; total budget revenue gained over 216 billion VND, reaching 82.3%, etc...
Besides, the implementation of socio-economic targets in the district still faced difficulties such as: Low and unstable agricultural prices; clearance of traffic works is slow; Illegal exploitation of river sand still occurs.
For building new rural area task, the average number of criteria achieved was 8.6 criteria per a commune. Particularly, Tan Thoi commune currently achieves 11/19 criteria, in the last 3 months of the year, the commune will strive to maintain 11 achieved criteria, achieving 4 more criteria.
Leaders of Tan Phu Dong district proposed to the PPC some issues such as: Investing in the dyke system to prevent floods; invest and expand the entire provincial road 877B, etc...
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong asked comrades of Tan Phu Dong district Party Committee to try to have unity and solidarity even in professional matters.
Regarding the clearance and compensation for projects, Tan Phu Dong district should apply the provincial way of doing land clearance of Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway Project.
In addition, he assigned the Tien Giang Department of Transport to review the entire transportation system of the district, calculating the roads to have an investment plan.
