To focus on implementing well five key tasks in 2020

ABO – A national teleconference was organized by the Government in Hanoi on December 30, chaired by the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Ministers.

Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong; National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and other central, local agencies and ministries attended the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that in 2019, Vietnam will not only achieve rapid growth but also maintain a stable macro-economic foundation.

Inflation is only 2.79 percent, the budget balance is surplus, interest rate level is stable and public debt is reduced to 56 percent of GDP, surplus is nearly 10 billion USD, foreign exchange reserve is nearly 80 billion USD, etc...

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that the Government is always consistent with the message “do not barter the environment for economic growth”, defining the three-in-one formula for development as “economic, social and environment ”, etc…

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong pointed out the key tasks for the next year:

Firstly, in terms of economic development, it is necessary to consolidate the macro-economic foundation; control inflation; improve the economy’s internal strength and self-reliance; further improve the investment – business climate; promote fast, sustainable and substantive growth; and step up the realization of strategic breakthroughs, economic restructuring and growth model reforms while improving the economy’s productivity, quality, effectiveness and competitiveness, etc…

Secondly, in terms of society and culture, the leader requested more concrete, practical and suitable policies and measures for developing culture and society, ensuring the harmonious human and economic development, improving people’s material and spiritual lives, building new-style rural areas and creating jobs, and sustainably reducing poverty, etc...

Thirdly, regarding defense, security and external relations, the country needs to intensify defense – security strength, firmly safeguard political stability and social order and safety, better the effectiveness of the external work and integration into the world, etc…

Fourthly, in terms of the Party and political system building, he asked sectors and localities to boost the reform of agencies’ leadership and working style. The Government, governmental agencies and authorities at all levels need to pay more attention to reforming administrative procedures and improving the capacity and efficiency of their apparatus, etc…

Fifthly, mentioning the organisation of all-level Party congresses towards the 13th national event, Party chief and President Trong said in 2020, all-level Party committees, administrations and the whole political system need to promptly and seriously implement the Party Central Committee’s resolution and the Politburo’s directive to successfully organize the congresses, etc…
