Various activities to celebrate Revolutionary Press Day
ABO/NDO – Various activities are being held to celebrate the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2021).
On June 19, in Hanoi, a delegation from the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee led by Politburo member cum Standing NA Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and congratulated the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Vietnam Television (VTV) on the occasion.
Congratulating the two agencies on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Man affirmed that the event is not only a great holiday of the press agencies but also of the whole nation because the press is the cause of the whole people. The press reflects the voice of the people towards the Party and State as well as conveys the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws to the people.

On behalf of the NA leaders, Man highly appreciated VOV, VTV, and other press agencies in contributing to the success of the publicity of the NA’s events, including the sittings of the legislative body and the recent elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels.
He urged both agencies and the press in general to renovate their organisational apparatus and equipment, while further improving the quality reporters, editors and technicians.
Earlier, on June 18, NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh visited and offered congratulations to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of the 96th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
Dinh expressed his hope that the VNA will continue to promote the good tradition and valuable experience of previous generations, maintaining its position as the mainstream and a strategic and reliable information centre of the Party and the State.
On the afternoon of June 18, the Ministry of Home Affairs held a regular press conference and congratulated reporters on the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. On the occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Thua highly praised the contribution of reporters to the operation of his ministry.
On the same day, Hai Duong Province held an award ceremony for winners of the Provincial Press Awards 2020 and launched the "Hai Duong overcoming difficulties - speeding up development" journalism award. The latter is open to all journalists and Vietnamese citizens both at home and abroad with journalistic works published or broadcast on various types of newspapers between October 1, 2020, and October 1, 2021.
On June 19, the People's Committee of Lang Son Province held the 1st Lang Son Provincial Press Awards 2021 and a meeting to celebrate the 96th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. At the ceremony, the organisers awarded eight B prizes, 14 C prizes and 13 consolation prizes (no A prizes) to the winners. Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association cum Editor-in-Chief of Lang Son Newspaper Hoang Dinh Hom launched the 2nd Lang Son Provincial Press Awards 2022.
