PM urges more efforts to control the epidemic
ABO/NDO – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has emphasised the need to continue implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures at the highest level.
Speaking a virtual meeting between the Government's Standing Board and ministries, sectors and 19 southern provinces and cities, and two provinces of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa on the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, PM Chinh said that recently, provinces and cities that have implemented Directive 16/CT-TTg have achieved certain results.

The PM also pointed out some limitations and urged ministries, branches and localities to well aware of their responsibilities and devise more effective solutions to overcome these in the coming time.
The Government leader acknowledged and highly lauded the leadership, direction and involvement of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front at all levels, mass organisations in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and the southern provinces along with the participation and unanimity of the people, frontline forces, and the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Functional forces were asked to continue to enhanced their inspection and supervision to prevent mass gatherings while more attention must be paid to supporting and encouraging people from all walks of life to voluntarily implement social distancing.
Relief centres for people and businesses should be established while a hotline should be set up to receive the feedback and requests of the people.
The Ministry of Health was asked to mobilise medical schools to support localities. The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs shall review and, if necessary, expand the beneficiaries according to Resolution 68/NQ-CP.
The PM also asked for more efforts to effectively and safely carry out the country’s vaccine strategy and apply information technology in pandemic prevention and control.
