Programme honours outstanding military women
ABO/NDO – The Ministry of Defence held a programme in Hanoi on March 3 to honour 378 outstanding military women with excellent achievements in the 2012-2022 period.
While congratulating the honourees, General Luong Cuong, Politburo member and head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, spoke highly of the role of military women and their contributions to national construction and defence.

He asked all agencies and units in the army to make greater efforts to implement the Party’s guidelines; State’s policies and laws; as well as the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence’s directions on women’s work and gender equality.
It is necessary to enhance human resource training and empower female staff in line with their qualifications, capacity, and family background, particularly those working in remote and disadvantaged areas, he stressed.
He noted that the initiatives and achievements of women working in the people’s army should be promptly honoured.
He also called on the honourees to perform their tasks better while promoting the good nature of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and upholding the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army.
