Youth of Vietnamese and Lao provinces hold meeting to boost ties

ABO/NDO- A meeting was held on October 7 for young people of Vietnam’s Quang Binh Province and Laos’s Khammouane Province with the aim to promote friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

In recent years, the Youth Union of Quang Binh Province have worked with its Lao counterpart to organise a wide range of activities such as delegation exchanges, volunteering and experience sharing.

The meeting between the young people of Vietnam’s Quang Binh Province and Laos’s Khammouane Province.

In 2020 and 2021, the Quang Binh Youth Union provided support for Lao students who were studying in the Vietnamese province to overcome the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The provincial youth union also donated medical supplies worth 300 million VND (12,500 USD) to Khammouane Province.

In the future, the youth organisations of the two countries will continue the communication work on the foundation of the Vietnam-Laos special relationship so as to further enhance the bond between the young generations of Vietnam and Laos.

On the occasion, the Khammouane Youth Union awarded a certificate of merit to the Quang Binh Youth Union for their assistance in the fight against COVID-19.
