NASC urges for efforts to ensure employees' living conditions during Tet

ABO/NDO- The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) continued its 18th session in Hanoi on December 15 to review a report from the NASC's Ombudsman Board in October and November of 2022.

According to Chairman of the NASC's Ombudsman Board Duong Thanh Binh, voters and citizens have expressed their pleasure at the continued stability and development of the socio-economic situation in the country. However, he also cited that voters and people across the country are especially worried about the situation that many gas stations have stopped selling or have been selling in moderation in recent times; food hygiene and safety, especially food hygiene and safety at schools; the situation of many workers being cut off or ceasing work when the Lunar New Year approaches; the employee’s one-time social insurance withdrawal status; the shortage of medicines that is still taking place on a large scale; the status of drug precursors and synthetic drugs mixed with confectionery, fruit juice, e-cigarettes; and so on.

Speaking at the session, NA Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong suggested that the Board receive comments on the report from members of the NASC and add more contents on the situation related to the lack of capital among enterprises as well as the difficulty with liquidity and corporate bonds. The NASC also requested that the Government continue directing efforts to remove these difficulties.

In addition, it is necessary to direct the acceleration of construction and approval of planning, including land use planning at the provincial, district and regional levels as well as the national master plan.

During the session, the NASC also assessed the results of the implementation of the programme on foreign affairs and international cooperation in 2022; consider and approve the 2023 foreign affairs programme of the NASC and gave opinions on the foreign affairs and international cooperation programme of the Ethnic Council, the NA's committees, the Secretary-General, the NA’s friendship parliamentary groups, agencies of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the State Audit and the NA Office.
