Ho Chi Minh City discusses special mechanisms for development
ABO/NDO- The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee convened a meeting on July 8 to review the city’s socio-economic performance in the first half of the year and the key tasks for the next six months.
The meeting also discussed measures to implement the National Assembly’s resolutions on piloting some special mechanisms and policies for Ho Chi Minh City’s development.
In his opening speech, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen highlighted what the city achieved during the first six months of the year, including an economic growth rate of 3.55%.

Concerning the National Assembly’s resolution, Nen stated that it is a great opportunity for the city to address the bottlenecks impeding its development.
He added that the resolution is intended to create transformative changes, mobilise resources for development and effectively tap into the potential and advantages of Ho Chi Minh City’s rapid and sustainable development.
The Ho Chi Minh City leaders asked participants at the meeting to uphold their sense of responsibility and proposed practical measures to make leadership and administration tasks more and more effective.
He called for identification of “bright spots” at grass-roots level for replication as well as drawbacks and weaknesses so that they can be resolved in the coming time.
