Lao youths join study exchange in Ho Chi Minh City

ABO/NDO- On August 5, sixty officials and youths from Vientiane City and the provinces of Champasak and Attapeu of Laos started their trip for an exchange programme in Ho Chi Minh City to gain experiences and contribute to youth work in the city.

This is one of the activities carried out under a memorandum of understanding on establishing the friendship and cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the Youth Unions of Vientiane City and provinces Champasak and Attapeu in Laos.

The contents of the programme are designed for thematic training and practical activities including the introduction of Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union and measures to organise volunteer activities for youth union members in the current period.

The Ho Chi Minh City delegates also highlighted teamworking skills to their foreign counterparts, along with experience in gifted, artistic, and aesthetic education programmes for children.

During the training period, the delegations’ members will also join many practical activities such as visiting historical and cultural works (including the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Saigon Special Forces’ weapons vault in District 1, the Rung Sac base, and Thanh An Island Commune).

Speaking at the programme, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Truong Minh Tuoc Nguyen said the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union believes the activity contributes to further deepening the relations between the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and three locations of Laos.

This is also an opportunity for the delegations to discuss new solutions in youth work, focusing on digital transformation.

Laddaphone Ponsaikham, Deputy Secretary of Vientiane City Youth Union, expressed her hope that the youths from the two countries will have many interesting and useful experiences.
