Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visits naval soldiers

ABO/NDO- On August 21, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province, to encourage soldiers and officers of the 4th Naval Region, the 189th Navy Brigade, along with soldiers and people of Truong Sa.

In his report to the vice president, Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan, commander of the 4th Naval Region, shared that despite facing numerous difficulties, the whole region has successfully fulfilled their duties and responsibilities.

The regional command has also been active in search and rescue work and determined that helping the people is a combat task during peacetime.

The region always stands ready to rescue and support fishermen in distress.

Speaking with officers and soldiers of the 4th Naval Region and the armed forces and people of Truong Sa via video link, Vice President Xuan praised their efforts in firmly defending the nation’s islands and waters.

She noted that they need to effectively fulfil three groups of tasks: protecting the country’s island and sea sovereignty, maintaining maritime safety and security, and promoting sustainable marine economic development.

The vice president expressed her hope that naval officers and soldiers will uphold their heroic tradition and overcome all difficulties to modernise the navy.
