ABO/NDO- Winners of the 4th national writing contest on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation in the new context were honoured at an awards ceremony held in Ha Noi on May 15 by the People’s Army Newspaper and the Viet Nam Journalists Association.

At the ceremony, the organisers presented 30 prizes, including three A, six B, nine C, and 12 consolation prizes, to the most outstanding entries in three categories of centrally-run press agencies, local press agencies, and magazines. Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Vice Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People's Army and head of the contest’s steering committee, noted that the fourth edition saw an increase in the quantity and quality of submissions.

He hailed that alongside experts and scientists' academic articles clarifying the foundational principles of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology, the competition also featured many journalistic pieces that demonstrated sharp critique and timely responses, contributing to fighting against distorted allegations of hostile, reactionary, and politically opportunistic forces.

He stressed that throughout its four editions, the contest has affirmed the vanguard role of the press in popularising, defending and protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.
