PM requests basic completion of Viet Nam Exhibition Fair Centre in July

ABO/NDO- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the faster progress of the Viet Nam Exhibition Fair Centre (VEFAC) project in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh district – one of the top 10 biggest exhibition centres in the world - to basically complete it by the end of July, while inspecting the project on May 19.

This work will celebrate and serve the display of socio-economic development achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-2025), and National Day (September 2, 1945-2025), he said.

For the long term, PM Chinh stressed the need to develop the centre into a new symbol of Ha Noi and the nation in terms of scale, culture, architecture, structure, environmental landscape, and governance, so as to reflect the national stature, worthy of the country's historical and cultural traditions, and especially to showcase its achievements after 40 years of ‘Doi Moi’ (Renewal).

It will serve as a hub for culture, arts, tourism, and services, and a place that fosters and develops the cultural and entertainment industries, he stated, adding that the goal is to establish it as a regional and global exhibition centre - where citizens can enjoy the fruits of development, and where the cultural and artistic values of both Viet Nam and the world are celebrated.

The Government leader agreed in principle the building of special mechanisms and policies for the Viet Nam Exhibition Fair Centre.

If necessary, international consultants with proven capacity and expertise in organising large-scale events may be engaged. At the same time, Viet Nam must also build a domestic team capable of absorbing technology and knowledge, he said.

Construction of the 90-ha exhibition centre started in late August 2024. The project is located at the northeastern gateway of Ha Noi, at the heart of key transport arteries, including planned road, air, and metro routes. The indoor exhibition hall is the centerpiece of the complex, divided into nine zones, each covering over 10,000 square metres, with a main lobby spanning more than 7,000 square metres.

Complementing the main exhibition hall are four outdoor exhibition areas, designed to accommodate large-scale events, exhibitions, festivals, and cultural tourism activities. Covering a total area of 20.6 hectares, this outdoor exhibition park is the second largest of its kind in the world and the largest in Asia.
