It must also courageously fight against negativity and wrongdoing, while promoting exemplary individuals, positive values, and profound humanistic ideals across society.
At the same time, the press must function as an open forum where people can express their views, aspirations, and genuine feedback, thus participating in public oversight and constructive criticism.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh, who is also Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, affirmed that Viet Nam’s revolutionary press today always carries the breath of life, vividly reflecting all aspects of society, the Party’s policies and directions, and the thoughts and aspirations of the people from all walks of life; sharing, connecting, and reinforcing the great national unity bloc.
To achieve this, the press must inspire journalists to remain steadfast in their ideals, deepen their professional expertise, innovate in their thinking, and work with compassion and a constructive spirit so as to create valuable, enduring journalistic works.
He revealed that this year’s awards attracted nearly 2,000 submissions, from which the jury selected 128 outstanding works that demonstrated authenticity, a strong fighting spirit, valuable content, innovative presentation, and meaningful public impact.
These works addressed major themes such as organisational streamlining, institutional reform, digital transformation, and green development.
They also tackled pressing social issues, including damage from Super Typhoon Yagi and related relief efforts, deforestation, overexploitation of mineral resources, and the fight against smuggling and counterfeit goods.
From the 183 works that reached the final round, the jury awarded a total of 128 pieces, including: 13 A prizes, 27 B prizes, 49 C prizes, and 39 consolation prizes.
A notable highlight this year was the introduction of two new award categories: multimedia journalism and creative journalism.
Nhan Dan Newspaper secured one A prize, three B prizes, and three C prizes. The A prize was awarded for the piece “Interactive Panorama Supplement on the Dien Bien Phu Campaign” in the creative journalism category.
Journalist Thi Uyen, a member of the winning team, shared: “Our development team wanted to create a product that integrates technology with traditional print journalism. Personally, I hope the augmented virtual reality experience featured in this work will help Generation Z feel more connected to and engaged with mainstream journalism.”
