Activities celebrate 69th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day
A number of events have been held across the country to mark the 69th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).
The Thua Thien - Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in co-ordination with the Huong Thuy district People’s Committee organised a mass arts festival bringing together 200 amateur artists from eight art troupes.
The event featured a number of songs and dances praising the country, as well as the bravery of soldiers and volunteer young people who laid down their lives for national liberation and reunification.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on August 28 officially launched a propaganda poster contest to celebrate major holidays in 2015 such as the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification, and the 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.
The culture, society and people of the ASEAN countries are the focus of an exhibition which opened at the Vietnam National Library on August 28.
Entitled ‘ASEAN Cultural Space’, the exhibition is displaying 1,000 documents including photographs, paintings, books and newspapers in different languages. The exhibits were selected from the 2.5 million documents stored in the library.
