Deputy PM urges innovation for vocational training
Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) should fundamentally renovate vocational training, especially in reviewing and supplementing planning of vocational training institution networks, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has urged.
Over 1.2 million labourers found employment in the first ten months of this year. |
Speaking at a meeting on October 28 with the MoLISA on issues related to labour and social work, Deputy PM Dam suggested the ministry promulgate guiding documents and implementation of the Law on Employment, as well as develop a database system on labour markets and improve operational capacity for employment service centres.
There was a growing demand of workers seeking employment via the internet, so the ministry should promote IT applications to provide employees with effective tools to find employment opportunities, the deputy PM said.
He also noted the MoLISA should strengthen co-ordination with related ministries and agencies in creating jobs for local workers, as well as accelerating administrative procedural reform to facilitate payment of wages and allowances.
Reports from the MoLISA showed that there were approximately 1.2 million jobs created for local labourers during the last ten months of 2014, while 91,143 overseas Vietnamese workers have found decent jobs abroad.
Currently, the nation has a total of 1,421 vocational training facilities which have enrolled 623,000 people during the first eight months of the year.
