Drama Festival on gender equality and prevention of domestic violence held

On November 25, Vietnam Women's Union combined with the United Nations Population to hold Drama Festival on gender equality and prevention of domestic violence.

Ms Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Head of the Family & Social Affairs Department of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr Tran Thanh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee attended event.

Participants also saw many special theatrical performances of the women's team at all levels in Tien Giang province and cities in the south.

The content of plays concentrated on the Decree of Government on gender equality; Law on violence against women; Law of Marriage and Family; about gender, gender equality, prevention of domestic violence,etc ...

Ms Mai raised many salient issues of violence against women and girls today. In order to reduce the lowest domestic violence, Vietnam Women's Union in cooperation with the Committee for the Advancement of Women, the Women's Union of Provincial promoted a propaganda to raise awareness of equality gender and prevention of domestic violence based on gender to each household.

Festival Drama was organized to share, raise awareness for women members, and improve the quality of operating models of communication for integrating gender equality and prevention of domestic violence under interactive communication scenario form, contributing to reducing family violence against women and girls.
