Administrative procedure reform brings about positive results

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a working session on December 25 with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on administrative procedure reform since the ministry was tasked with State management in this field two years ago.

Reports at the meeting by the MoJ showed that during the last two years, administrative reform was in progress and recorded positive results, contributing to fulfill national socio-economic development tasks. Regulation management on administrative procedures reform has been more coherent with the development and evaluation of legal documents and law implementation monitoring.

Reviewing, simplifying and publicising administrative procedures in the field of taxation, customs, land, construction, and investment have helped reduce costs and time for individuals and businesses.

Particularly, by the fourth quarter of this year, public authorities have completed simplification for more than 4,200 administrative procedures in total of over 4,700 ones that needed to be simplify under a master plan approved by the Government.

Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Dao Minh Tu, suggested that along with solutions to simplify administrative procedures, it is necessary to improve quality of public services and capacity of staff directly engaged in this work.

Deputy PM Phuc emphasised that the reform of administrative procedures should be strengthened in 2015 and considered as a breakthrough in socio-economic development and investment environment improvement.

Phuc urged the MoJ to strictly control administrative procedure reform during evaluation and examination of legal documents, while enhancing close collaboration with related ministries and agencies in effectively carrying out the task.
