Conference on emergency critical care medicine held in Da Nang
A conference on emergency critical care medicine opened in Da Nang city on April 16, with the participation of domestic and foreign health specialists in recovery fields.
International experts updated Vietnamese doctors on the management of severe sepsis and septic shock, coagulation disorders in the intensive care unit (ICU), acute liver failure and critical care toxicology and more.
Emergency critical care medicine remains a thriving industry in Vietnam. Formerly, the fatality rate of patients often rose to 100%, however more recently emergency critical care medicine has saved the lives of many patients in critical condition and helped Vietnam to meet international standards in the highly specialized field.
The conference, sponsored by the Vietnam Ministry of Health and Society of Critical Care Medicine from the US, is part of the 2015 International Critical Care Symposium.
According to Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, the International Critical Care Symposium was the first international conference on emergency critical care medicine held in Vietnam. The event offers Vietnamese health specialists and doctors an opportunity to exchange experiences and update new information on emergency critical care medicine and medical toxicology.
Earlier, a three-day training course under the framework of the 2015 International Critical Care Symposium was organised to train Vietnamese doctors and nurses from Bach Mai Hospital, Da Nang Hospital and Da Nang’s C Hospital on ultrasounds in active recovery, basic recovery, child recovery and nursing in recovery.
