VFF President extends best wishes to Khmer people at New Year festival
Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan presented gifts to Khmer monks and people in the city on April 16 on the occasion of their traditional Chol Chnam Thmay (New Year) festival.

During his visit to Can Tho city, the Patriotic Monks Solidarity Association (CPMSA) and Muni Rangsay pagoda, VFF President Nhan extend his greetings for a new year full of peace, health, success and happiness for all Khmer people.
He expressed his delight at Can Tho city’s effort in caring for Khmer people and realising policies on ethnic groups and religion.
He called for closer co-ordination between the CPMSA and the VFF in bettering the work of poverty reduction, improving cultural life for residents, and raising funds for the construction of an Academy of Khmer Theravada Buddhism in the city.
Monk Dao Nhu, deputy head of the executive board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Can Tho city chapter, expressed his thanks to the VFF and relevant ministries and sectors for their support in improving the lives of local citizens.
