Prime Minister urges strong action against drugs
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has called on ministries, agencies and provincial authorities to step up their efforts during the action month against drugs from June 1 to 30.

Authorities are required to raise public awareness about the dangers of narcotics, especially synthetic drugs and new psychoactive substances.
The government leader has also called for the dissemination of information on new rehabilitation methods for drug users such as methadone and community-based treatment.
The Ministry of Public Security is requested to focus on busting drug trafficking rings and work with neighbouring countries to crack down on drug-related crimes while the Ministries of Defence and Finance step up their effort to prevent the shipment of drugs into Vietnam.
Relevant agencies are also required to increase scrutiny over relevant businesses such as restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, and entertainment venues to prevent the illegal use of drugs in these places.
