38 volunteer teams to join traffic safety efforts in the exam season

On June 15,  the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the National Committee for Traffic Safety hold a press briefing in Hanoi to introduced 38 voluntary teams who will work to ensure traffic safety during the 2015 national high school graduation exam.

According to Mr Nguyen Phi Long, Secretary of the committee and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation, 38 volunteer teams will be arranged at 38 sites in 23 cities and provinces nationwide where the exams will take place. Each team consists of 20-30 unionists, youths which are selected and managed by the provicial and city group. The volunteer team started their duties from June 25 to July 10.

The volunteer teams are responsible for working with relevant agencies to raise public awareness of obeying traffic laws, regulating flow and handling accidents.

Mr Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Traffic Safety, said that: In the 2015 national high school graduation exam, a number of measures have been enacted to ensure traffic safety and support means of transport for candidates and their family members.

According to Hung, the Vietnam Railways Corporation has now discounted 15% fare for students to take the exam.
