Fatalities from storm Kujira reaches eight
Eight persons were killed, four injured and four went missing as typhoon Kujira, the first one this year, lashed the northern and central coastal provinces on June 23, according to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control on June 25.

The northern mountainous province of Son La is the hardest-hit with seven dead and three others injured.
Sixty-eight ha of rice paddy and other food crops were submerged under water while local irrigational and road infrastructure were damaged.
Flash floods disrupted traffic in Bon Phang, Chieng Pac, Tong Lenh communes and Thuan Chau district in the early hours on June 25.
Heavy rains caused landslides and floods in Son La hydropower plant.
The northern provinces of Hai Duong and Quang Ninh also suffered severe losses with one death in Hai Duong and one injured in Quang Ninh.
Floods are forecast for rivers in the Hong-Thai Binh system on June 25-26, and in provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the storm has weakened into a tropical storm area on June 25 morning with wind speed of below 40km per hour.
