Remains of US missing-in-action servicemen repatriated
Two sets of remains believed to be of US servicemen who died during the war in Vietnam were handed over to the US at a ceremony at the Da Nang international airport on September 9, marking the 136th transfer of remains since 1973.

The remains were unearthed during the 120th joint field activities between Vietnam and the US from July to September, and were examined by experts from both sides in Da Nang.
The remains will be sent to Hawaii for further examination.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Board of Directors of Vietnam’s Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP), the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the US Defence Attache Office in Hanoi, the US Defence Department’s POW/MIA Accounting Agency and the US MIA Office in Hanoi.
