VP Nguyen Thi Doan meets outstanding Vietnamese farmers

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 13 for 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers who have recorded significant achievements in 2015.

Speaking at the reception, VP Doan hailed efforts and contributions made by the 63 individuals, as well as millions of farmers who are striving for the development of agriculture and modern rural development.

She recommended the Vietnam Farmers’ Association regularly organise practical activities to encourage farmers to promote their talent and knowledge in agricultural production and business to enrich themselves and the society.

 

The VP also called on the association to keep its members updated of the difficulties - including non-tariff barriers and language differences - emerging in international integration so that farmers proactively enrich their knowledge and apply technological advances to production, thus improving the quality of their agricultural products.

 

According to Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association Nguyen Quoc Cuong, the winners for the Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers 2015 title are those who think creatively in agricultural production and business, while also having inventions being effectively applied in production, making significant contributions to the construction of modern rural areas and national security.

 

The award ceremony for the title ‘Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers 2015’ is scheduled to be held at the Hanoi Opera House on October 14, he added.
