Over 4.1 million rural laborers get vocational training

In the 2010-2015 period, over 4.1 million rural laborers were provided with vocational training, according to the Ministry of Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

In a report to review 6 years of the implementation of the project on training rural laborers until 2020, MOLISA said that the number of trained rural laborers accounted for 74.1% of the project’s target for this period.

Of which, 2.7 million rural laborers received assistance from the project, accounting for 91.5% of the plan for the 2010-2015 period and 41.3% of the 11-year project.

Notably, in the 2010-2014 period alone, of over 2.1 million rural laborers who were provided with assistance for vocational training, over 1.5 million of whom got jobs after graduation, accounting for 78.7% of the project’s target.

In 6 years, the project spent over VND8.17 trillion on giving vocational training to rural laborers, with 71.9% of the capital coming from the central budget, and 28.1% coming from local budget and other sources.

The project on giving vocational training by 2020, adopted by the Prime Minister in 2009, targets to provide vocational training for some 10.6 million rural laborers.
