Summarizing the prevention of diseases in 2015

On March 30, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Tran Thanh Duc chaired the meeting summarizing the prevention of disease in 2015.

In 2015, the disease prevention in Tien Giang has continued to maintain achivements of the national health target projects. In comparison with 2014, there was 4 diseases increased, 18 diseases decreased in total fo 28 diseases, including 2,196 cases of dengue fever increased of 147 percent. There were 4 cases dead by dengue fever, hand foot and mouth disease and streptococcus pyogenes swine disease.

In 2016, Tien Giang health sector will focus on preventing disease with the goal of reducing death rate and infection with diseases rate, controling and preventing major epidemics from occuring. Especially, the health sector will focuse preventing many new infection diseases caused by the Ebola virus, MERS - CoV, Zika and AH1N1 flu, AH5N1 flu and AH7N9 flu. The meeting also carried out plan to implement prevention by Zika virus, dengue fever, measles vaccine - Rubella vaccination for object from 16-17 years old in 2016.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the PPC Tran Thanh Duc affirmed the importance of disease prevention in the future. To make this work better in the coming time, the health sector should combine closely with organizations to implement prevention diseases actively as well as control of epidemics and health program objectives.
