Tien Giang supported to overcome drought and salinity

The Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just signed Decision number 604 /QD-TTg approving supporting for overcoming the impact of drought and salinity in the Central region, the Central Highland and southern regions.

Accordingly, the Government will provide an aid package of nearly 485 billion VND from the central standby budget in 2016 to support 21 salinity-hit localities and 2 irrigation companies for overcoming the impact of drought and salinity, including Tien Giang supported 14.5 billion VND.

Besides, many provinces in the Mekong Delta region is supported in this session such as Ben Tr province (25 billion VND), Tra Vinh province (6 billion VND), Vinh Long province (20 billion VND), Can Tho city (9.5 biilion NVD), Hau Giang province (36.9 billion VND).

The Prime Minister asked municipal and provincial People’s Committees to use central and local standby budgets to address the consequences of drought and saltwater intrusion.
