These candidates were selected as they have fulfilled a 12-month Japanese language course and received the N3 Japanese language proficiency certificate.
The health workers will work in Japan for three years (for nurses) and for four years (for orderlies), with the opportunity to take part in examinations to gain Japan's national certificate on nurses and orderlies. If they pass the examinations, they will be eligible for long-term work in Japan.
The Overseas Labour Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs in partnership with other relevant agencies are in charge of fulfilling the programme on training and sending Vietnamese nurses and orderlies to Japan.
The programme was first launched in 2012 which has so far provided four Japanese language courses for 720 candidates. As a result, 138 candidates of the first course, 152 candidates of the second course and 180 candidates of the third course have been sent to Japan to work.
Deputy Head of the Overseas Labour Management Department Tong Hai Nam said that 12 out of 20 health workers of the first course and three out of 14 health workers of the second course have passed the examinations on Japan's national certificate on nurses and orderlies, making Vietnam the country with the highest rate of passed candidates.
During the 12-month Japanese language course in Vietnam, candidates are provided with free accommodation and a living allowance.
