My Thuan 2 bridge project needs around US$247 mil
A construction project of the My Thuan 2 bridge will need a capital of around VND5,535 billion (US$247 million), according to the proposal by the Project Management Unit 7 (PMU7) to the Ministry of Transport.
The PMU7 has proposed a Japanese ODA loan of around VND5,251 billion, the remaining amount coming from the national corresponding capital for ground clearance compensations.
The My Thuan 2 bridge is located between Trung Luong-My Thuan and My Thuan-Can Tho expressways, 350m away from the existing My Thuan Bridge.
The cable-stayed bridge will have a total length of 6.81 kilometers with six lanes. The 33-meter-wide road will allow vehicles to travel at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour.The bridge project is designed to connect Tien Giang and Vinh Long Provinces in the Mekong Delta, in order to reduce overloading & traffic congestion.
