The parliament speaker on August 18 met delegations from the Centre for Conservation and Promotion of Vietnamese Culture and the Hung King Centre for Cultural Research and Development.
Chairwoman Ngan said throughout Vietnam’s long history, the Hung Kings have been a sacred symbol and commemorated by generations of Vietnamese people with temples and shrines dedicated to them throughout the country.
The worship of Hung Kings has widely dispersed and become a cultural value that enhances community solidarity and is a source of strength during the course of national construction and defence.
The NA leader welcomed the two centres’ plans to organise activities aimed at honouring Vietnam’s legendary founders and national heroes.
She affirmed that the Party and State would always facilitate their operations and urged the two centres to attract more researchers, artists and the masses to the building of a Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity as a way to contribute to sustainable development.
