Gifts and scholarships presented to promote dreams of poor children

A total of 70 gifts, 30 scholarships and 20 savings books have been presented to children living in difficult conditions and the children of border soldiers in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Long An, Tay Ninh, Kon Tum and Dak Lak on the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

The gifts were presented by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights (VAPCR) as part of its programme on “Promoting Children’s Dreams,” held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 10.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh hailed the VAPCR and relevant agencies for hosting such a meaningful programme, which encouraged disadvantaged children to overcome their difficulties and get ahead in life.

It also promoted their dreams, hopes and trust in a brighter future while reflecting the care of Party, State and benefactors to children, particularly those having disabilities or living in difficult circumstances.

He called on local Party committees, authorities, organisations and individuals to raise their awareness and better their implementation of the Party’s standpoint and the State’s policies and laws on protecting children’s rights so that children can receive care and support from the entire community.

He also took the occasion to extend his best greetings to the children, calling on them to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings and participate in social movements while wishing them a new academic year full of progress and a cheerful Mid-Autumn Festival.
