He asked the Ministry of Transport (MOT) to continue reviewing and supplementing stricter regulations in training, testing and issuing driver’s licenses, especially class D, E and FC licenses, and to inspect state management on transportation business and conditions for transportation business at a number of provincial-level Transport Departments and transportation firms.
The deputy PM directed the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Department, to strengthen inspection over driving training institutions, many drivers of which have violated traffic rules and caused serious accidents, and resolutely revoke licenses of training institutions with violations.
The MOT will continue working with the Hanoi People’s Committee to direct the separation and transition of local passenger transportation flows, ensuring publicity and transparency.
Transportation firms and cooperatives are requested to conduct medical examinations of drivers in 2017 and terminate contracts with those testing positive for drug use.
