Vietnam Fatherland Front offers aid to storm victims
The Standing Board of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on November 5 decided to allocate VND3 billion (US$132,000) to the south central and Central Highlands provinces which were just hit by storm Damrey.

KhanhHoa province will receive VND1 billion (US$44,000) while Phu Yen, BinhDinh, DakLak and QuangNgai provinces will receive VND500 million (US$22,000) each.
The funds will be used to provide relief aid for families of the deceased, missing and injured and those whose houses were destroyed.
Storm Damrey wreaked havoc in the south central and Central Highlands provinces of Vietnam, killing 27 people and leaving 22 others missing by 8:00am on November 5, according to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
The storm destroyed 626 houses, unroofed and damaged 39,704 houses in the region, mostly in KhanhHoa, Phu Yen, and DakLak province.
As many as 4,425 hectares of rice were flooded and 25,212 hectares of crops were ruined. Up to 228 fishing vessels have been sunk while nearly 1,500 fishing farms were damaged in BinhDinh, Phu Yen, and KhanhHoa.
