Thanh Nhut recognized as the new rural commune

On December 21, Thanh Nhut commune has just been proclaimed the new rural commune by Go Cong Tay district People’s Committee and The Provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program to build new rural areas. After six years of implementing the National Targeted Program to build new ruaral areas, Thanh Nhut commune has got many obvious achievements, including 19 standards of the new rural commune. Traffic works were built and upgraded on the basis of inheriting the previous traffic system, restructuring the agriculture and changing the structure of plants and animals with a focus on mobilizing people to invest in the development of key economic crops and livestock.

Many important targets related to people’s life has got good result such as: The commune’s average per capita income in 2017 is VND38.02 million/person/year. The medical station ensures the need for medical examination and treatment for the people and in 2017 reassessed by the superiors to meet the national criteria for health, the proportion of people participating in health insurance reached 85.24%.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Van Nghia congratulated the accomplishments achieved by the Party, government and people of Thanh Nhut commune. At the same time, the leaders of Go Cong Tay district and Thanh Nhut commune People's Committee should focus on maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria.

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee awarded the flag and certificate of achievement of construction standards of new rural commune and welfare facilities worth of VND1 billion to Thanh Nhut commune. At the same time, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in new rural commune construction of Thanh Nhut commune have been praised by the People's Committees at all levels.
