At the end of November 2017, Chau Thanh district had 402 cases of HIV infection, of which there were 37 cases in Than Cuu Nghia commune, 30 cases in Tan Ly Tan commune. The majority of HIV infected cases was in the working age. According to statistics from the health sector, up to now, there are 206 cases changed to AIDS and 123 cases died.

* In Go Cong town, since the first HIV cases were detected in 1995, there were 189 HIV-infected people in the end of November 2017. The number of AIDS cases was 82, of whom 51 died.
