Long Tien is proclaimed the new rural commune

On January 12, Long Tien commune has just been proclaimed the new rural commune by the Cai Lay district People’s Committee and The Provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program to build new rural areas.

After five years of implementation of the national target program on building new rural areas (2012 - 2017), Long Tien commune has mobilized investment capital of over VND269 billion including VND134 billion contributed by people and the remaining invested by the state budget.

The movement of building new rural areas has spread widely and achieved many remarkable achievements. The material and spiritual life of the people has been improved and rural infrastructure has been upgraded. By the end of 2017, the per capita income of Long Tien commune reached VND 41 million/person/year and the rate of poor households decreased to 3.15%. The system of inter-commune roads, hamlets were asphalted and concretized to meet the demand of transport and transportation of people.

Deputy Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Duc praised the achievements of the Long Tien commune Party Committee, authority and people over 5 years of building new countryside. This was the motivation for the locality to bring into full play its potential and strength to continue raising the criteria of new rural communes.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province awarded the emulation flag and the welfare fund worth VND 1 billion to Long Tien commune. Three collectives and thirty individuals with excellent achievements in the implementation of the National Targeted Program to build new rural areas were rewarded by the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee, Cai Lay district People's Committee and Long Tien commune People's Committee.
