VND39 billion helped the poor

On January 16, the Tien Giang Red Cross organized a summary of the work of the association in 2017 and the implementation of the 2018 task.

In 2017, the movement of the Red Cross was promoted by all levels of the society. The association helped over 140,000 people with a total value of over VND38.8 billion, creating conditions for the poor and victims of agent orange in the province.

In addition, the association also organized many medical examinations, health advice and free medicine for the poor, cataract surgery for the blind blind. Disaster preparedness and primary care has been promoted to increase the total value of humanitarian activities in 2017 to VND13 billion. In particular, in 2017, volunteer blood donation activities reached and exceeded the target with 9,897 units of blood collected by the Blood Donation Campaign.

In 2018, the Tien Giang Red Cross continues to promote movements, campaigns to respond the Action Month for victims of Agent Orange, to actively participate in building works for community welfare.
On this occasion, the Tien Giang Red Cross presented certificates of merit to 22 collectors completed the movements and activities of the association in 2017.
