With the theme of “Strengthening responsibility of food producers and traders”, this year’s action month aims to strengthen propaganda on food safety issues, thereby raising the role and responsibility of enterprises in complying with food safety regulations; promote inspection activities at food trading establishments, especially smalls-sized ones, craft villages; intensify management agencies, social organizations and customers’ monitoring over legal enforcement on food safety at food producing, trading establishments; minimize food poisoning cases…
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the quality assurance of food safety and safety is particularly important because of the quality of food hygiene and safety not only directly affects human health but also the development of the whole society. In recent years, food safety in the province has been implemented by all levels and sectors however the situation of violating the law on food safety is still occurred. Thus, the functional sectors need to promote the role of state management and coordinate well to implement activities to ensure food safety and hygiene.

He asked the Action Month for Food Safety 2018 to focus on strengthening education, communication, speeding up the inspection food safety at food production and trading establishments. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the role of management sectors, social organizations and consumers in enforcing the law on food safety of individuals and establishments producing and trading in food to reduce the poisoning caused by unsafe food use.
It is known that the action month will be implemented across the province from April 15 to May 15.
