Month of humanitarian activities kicks off
ABO/NDO - The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS), in coordination with the Hanoi Red Cross, organised a programme on promoting goodwill emulation movements and launched the month for humanitarian activities in Hanoi on April 28.

The Humanitarian Month 2018 themed “Humanity - from Awareness to Action” aims to raise awareness and promote practical actions of officials and people from all walks of life in performing charitable activities.
After Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities across the country will continue the rollout of the Humanitarian Month with numerous activities to mobilize resources and assist disadvantaged people.
At the launching ceremony, the Hanoi Red Cross and other organisations and individuals donated 2 social houses worth VND50 million each, and 3 breeding cows worth VND15 million, to poor households, and presented 20 bicycles to needy students in the city.
On the occasion, the VRCS also received VND1.1 billion and 11 maritime liaison devices from businesses and the Vietnam U23 Football Team, while the Hanoi Red Cross received more than VND3.2 billion from enterprises, individuals, and the Red Cross at all levels.
A number of activities were also held such as a blood donation, a photo exhibition featuring outstanding activities of the VRCS and the Hanoi Red Cross, and a charity fair to raise funds for the poor.
