Tien Giang has 40 communes recognized to meet new rural standards

ABO - On April 13, the Tien Giang province Steering Committee for the implementation of national target programs on building new rural areas organized a meeting to report the results of implementation of the national target program on building new rural areas in the first quarter of 2018 and deploy the direction and tasks of the second quater.

Implementing the regulations of the national criteria for new rural communes, on the first quarter of 2018, Tien Giang had 40/144 communes recognized as new rural standards, accounting for 27.78%; on average, the number of criteria achieved was 13.03 points per commune, up 0.8 points compared to 2016.
 In addition, some communes no longer maintained the level of achievement criteria at the time of being recognized as: The rate of participation in health insurance, environment, security and order, etc... Most of the new standard rural communes from 2016 backward signed of slack, not really interested in the direction. In general, the steering work at the district and commune levels has been more active and drastic than in 2017, especially for the investment in infrastructure.

Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong said that it is necessary to strictly check requirements of the new rural criteria. The provincial, district and commune levels have to work together in building the new rural areas as well as to create trust, closeness and warmth in the heart of the people. The goal of the new rural is to improve the material life, the spirit of the people.

Therefore, in order to continue implementing the new rural construction work, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee suggested that measures be needed to improve the capacity of the steering committee at all levels; To work out plans and organize the inspection and supervision; To evaluate the situation and results of the program implementation in each locality and promptly grasp the difficulties and problems arising to guide and support localities.
