Traffic accidents increase in the first quarter
ABO – According to the Tien Giang provincial Traffic Safety Committee, there were 128 accidents claimed 77 lives and injured 77 others, up 30.61% in the number of cases; 6.94% in fatalities and 30.51% in the number of the injured annually.

According to the committee’s report, 5 localities experienced reduced rates by up to 20%. They include Tân Phu Dong district, Cai Lay district and My Tho city.
Five localities in the province reported a traffic fatality increase, including Chau Thanh district, Tan Phuoc district, Go Cong Tay district, Go Cong Dong district and Go Cong town.
Police reportedly cracked down on 25,595 traffic violations across the province in the first uater of this year, collecting fines of VND8.5 billion.
According to report, traffic accidents involving children accounted for more than 10% of cases, deaths and injuries compared to the total number of accidents, the total number of deaths and the total number of injuries in the province.
