Vinh Binh town recognized as the urban of grade V

ABO - The Tien Giang provincial People's Committee has issued Decision 752 to recognize Vinh Binh town (Go Cong Tay district) as the urban of grade V.

With the position of economic, political, cultural and social center of Go Cong Tay district, in the past years, the Party, authorities and people of Vinh Binh town made great strides in building the criteria. In recent years, the town economy changed positively, the growth rate of the period 2013 - 2017 was about 7.5 - 8.3% per year; the average income per capita reached VND25 million per year; the percentage of poor households in the area decreased to 5.53% (according to statistics of 2017).
In the economic structure of the town, there has been a marked shift in the proportion of industry-construction, trade-service sectors, the reduction of the proportion of agriculture but still ensuring food security, etc... As a result, the structure of industry - construction accounted for 40.3%, trade - service 38.9%, agriculture - forestry accounted for 20.1%.

In terms of infrastructure, over time, the town has invested in the construction of civil works; centralized administration; upgrading and expanding traffic routes; installation of drainage system, public lighting, decorative lights, installation of greeting gates on main roads in town, construction of parks, planning of production and business areas. Thus, it has given the town a new face and helped people bravely to invest in changing their professions, expanding their production scale and business.

The health care, education, culture have been also interested in the implementation. Excited about the development of the town, Nguyen Cong Chanh (the quarter 1) expressed: "Recently, the town's infrastructure has developed significantly, houses of people are more spacious, the scene environment - clean are more beautiful. Trading activities in the area are very bustling show that the devopment of people's life”.

Secretary of the Vinh Binh town Party Committee Bui Van Viet said: "In the orientation of socio-economic development in the period 2015-2020, the town party has clearly defined the task of building the town into the urban of grade V. To achieve its goal, the town is very interested in infrastructure development, expansion and development of trade and service networks.

At the same time, the town attaches great importance to the detailed planning to ensure science and harmony with the environmental landscape; to attach importance to the training of human resources and adopt policies to attract investment capital for further improvement of infrastructure, creating a motive force for socio-economic development of the town.”
