President Ho Chi Minh's birth anniversary marked at home and abroad

ABO/NDO – Various activities are being held both at home and abroad to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 128th birthday (May 19, 1890 - 2018).

A delegation of senior officials from Ho Chi Minh City offered incense and flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Museum’s city branch and Ho Chi Minh Statue in the southern city on Saturday.

The delegation, led by Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council, included leaders of the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front. Former Party and State leaders, representatives from departments, sectors and localities, and local people also joined the event.

They took a moment to remember the life and career of the late President, who devoted his life to national liberation and worked tirelessly for peace and progress around the world.

On the occasion, individuals, organisations, and agencies in Ho Chi Minh City paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum’s city branch and his statue.

The museum also opened a special exhibition entitled "President Ho Chi Minh with the patriotic emulation movement," featuring 160 documents and pictures reflecting the late leader 's great role in initiating, organising, and encouraging the entire people to participate in the patriotic emulation movements.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union honoured its outstanding members by bestowing the "Outstanding Youth following Uncle Ho" badge to 336 youth members across the country.

*Also on Saturday, the local leaders in Dong Nai province offered flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Tran Bien Temple of Literature.

Delegates enjoyed an exhibition at the Temple of Literature, featuring 80 documentary photos on President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career. A tree planting festival was also launched on this occasion.

* The same day, Lam Dong province launched the a tree planting festival with more than 2,000 trees planted at a local police training centre in Ward 7 of Da Lat city.
