More than 70,000 blood units were donated in 10 years (2008-2017)

According to general assessment, over 10 years of implementing the voluntary blood donation movement in Tien Giang province, the number of people taken part in blood donation more increased, the blood donation repeatedly rate reached 70%. Specifically, in the period 2008-2017, the province received 70,185 blood units with a total value of over VND10 billion.

The annual blood donations have contributed to millions of patients to need blood transfusions. In the first five months of 2018, the whole province held 24 received voluntary blood donations, with nearly 5,000 people attended and receiving 4,152 donated blood units.

Voluntary blood donation, sharing blood drops to save blood patients are one of the noble deeds, including individuals who donated blood more than 50 times or 60 times. These are beautiful actions showing the spirit of mutual affection.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross and the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee presented many certificates of merit to families, collectives and individuals recorded many achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement and mobilized voluntary blood donations for the period2008 – 2017.
