ABO – The "Let's clean up the sea” campaign was launched in Tan Thanh commune, Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province by the Tien Giang provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Tien Giang provincial Youth Union and the Border Guard Command of Tien Giang province.

The "Let's clean up the sea” campaign aims at bringing into play the role of volunteers and youths in Tien Giang province with practical activities in response to the Vietnam Sea and Island Week and the World Environment Day, June 5, with the theme “Resolving pollution caused by plastic and nylon”.
The campaign is significant to the province to popularize the importance of the nation’s seas and islands as well as introduce marine economic strengths and potential of the locality.
The event aims to encourage public involvement in and responsibility for protecting the marine environment and seeking solutions to sea pollution.
After the launching campaign ceremony, delegates, youth unionists, volunteers marched to raise awareness of the role of the sea in human life, a sense of community responsibility for the protection of the marine environment as well as the general environment.
Participants collected rubbish at Tan Thanh beach area, propagating and encouraging coastal people to always uphold the spirit of environmental protection, advising people to change plastic bags to raise awareness of environmental protection, etc...
