Tien Giang has 440 dengue fever cases

ABO – According to the Tien Giang Preventive Medicine, the dengue cases in the province in first five months is 400 dengue cases, an increase of over 54% in comparison with the same period last year.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection that can potentially develop into severe complications characterised by respiratory distress, severe bleeding and organ impairment.

According to the health agency, many large rainfalls in this time are favorable for development of mosquito. The dengue fever is into season and complex progress. This year is considered the year that Tien Giang predicts of an outbreak due to the cycle of epidemic disease, the change of tupe dengue, the changeable weather. Therefore, every family needs to proactively prevent dengue by cleaning environment, killing mosquito and mosquito larva.

The Tien Giang health sector continues to implement prevention of dengue fever and mobilize community to organize and maintain the campaign to kill mosquito larva in the province, to tackle many outbreaks in areas with risk as indicated epidemiology, to further inspection activities, supervision and support at all levels, especially the high number of infected communes and the risk of an outbreak.
