In 2018, 342 new construction works were started including 81 works of the provincial, 260 works of district and 21 works of commune. Most of projects in communes are supported by the Goverment as coastal communes with the total investment capital for capital construction over VND 5,500 billion. According to the assessment, the progress of capital construction reached 29.1% of the plan. The transition from 2017 reached 41.3%, new projects in 2018 reached 14.1%.

According to general assessment, the progress of capital construction in the province is very slow. Investors have not been active in the project procedure, expecting the owner's dependence, etc ... leading to both failing to capitalize and to complete the procedures of dossier preparation and appraisal project, etc…

Representatives of departments and localities presented advantages and disadvantages in the work of capital construction in the local. Therefore, the PPC give policies and solutions to speed up the construction work in the coming time.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong stressed that the work of capital construction should be focused because the development of infrastructure will be transformed into common development on the socio-economic of the locality.

In order to do this, it is necessary to resolutely overcome the shortcomings and weaknesses in the direction and administration in order to ensure the progress and objectives, especially those related to the people's life such as the upgrading project of My Tho urban area, the project of storm shelter in Go Cong Dong, the Tien Giang provincial general hospital.

The Chairman also proposed to continue consolidating, strengthening and enhancing the management and operation capacity of the specialized and local project management units, to manage the progress, quality, volume and investment capital of the works, etc...
