ABO - On July 15, Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong inspects the work of dredging water hyacinth plants to facilitate water flow in rivers, canals in Go Cong Tay district and Go Cong town.

There were 500 youth union members, local youth and student volunteers from the University of Police in Ho Chi Minh city, Tien Giang University and soldiers of the Division 8 dredged 36,000 m2 water hyacinth plants at Tham Thu Canal, the passage of Thanh Nhut commune, Go Cong Tay district
At the passage of Long Chanh commune, Go Cong town, there were nearly 200 farmer members dredged 24,000 m3 of water hyacinth plants.
This was the second height of dredging water hyacinth plants to facilitate water flow in rivers, canals launched by the PPC, which took place from July 7 to on August 31, with the plan to dredge about 9,300,000 m3 of hyacinth.
Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong praised the spirit for the community of volunteer youth and peasants members in the second height of dredging water hyacinth plants. He also reminded the whole force to speed the dredging salvage progress, to ensure labor safety and achieve high efficiency.
By inspecting, the Chairman of the PPC proposed that the agricultural sector in collaboration with local authorities to strengthen management, often to dredge water hyacinth plants. Particularly, people needed to improve their sense of protection of inner-field irrigation canal.
