General Department of Physical Education and Sport works with Tien Giang on child drowning prevention

ABO - The delegation of the General Department of Physical Training and Sports, led by Deputy Director the Department of Physical Training and Sports Pham Thi Chien, has just worked with the Tien Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on child drowning prevention in the period 2017-2020.

In the past time, Tien Giang province has effectively implemented the program of swimming safety, child drowning prevention.

Specifically, Tien Giang province organized 29 classes of swim instructors and swimming instruction for nearly 1,900 teachers; organizing swimming lessons and providing swimming certification to 360 students in rural primary schools.

The province invested and mobilized social resources to build and install 72 swimming pools which were suitable to practical conditions in each locality. In addition, some districts renovated ponds, lakes and rivers to teach children swimming.

At the working session, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports Pham Thi Chien appreciated the results achieved by Tien Giang province and recognized the recommendations to synthesize advice for leaders in oder to have the best solutions for implementing the program.
